e-Sword Module Installer

There are thousands of study resources scattered across the Internet for the free e-Sword Bible software – Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, reference books, study notes, devotionals, maps, images, harmonies, reading plans, verse lists, and memory lists. Sometimes you may wonder what you’re supposed to do with a resource file (i.e., a module) when you’ve downloaded it in order to get it to work on your computer. Well, wonder no more!

Simply download the e-Sword Module Installer – graciously provided by Brent Hildebrand and Josh Bond at BibleSupport.com – and double-click it to install it. (If you don’t already have an account at BibleSupport.com, you will need to sign up for one first, but it’s free and enormously beneficial.)

Thereafter, all you need to do to install an e-Sword module that you’ve downloaded from the Internet is to double-click it. (If the module is inside a zip file, simply open the zip file, and then double-click the e-Sword module.) The e-Sword Module Installer will automatically launch (see the image below). Depending on the type of module that you are trying to install, the folder location that you see may be different from mine, but it will essentially look like this:

Then just click the OK button to complete the process. That’s it! (If e-Sword is currently running, you’ll need to close it and re-open it to see the new module that you just installed.)

NOTE:  If the module that you downloaded is an executable (exe) file, a different installer wizard will launch when you double-click it instead of the e-Sword Module Installer displayed above, but that’s okay. If that happens, just keep clicking the Next button until it has finished installing.

By the way, if you’re in need of e-Sword resources, be sure to browse the Downloads section over at BibleSupport.com. It’s the place to go for free modules.
