“Featuring a star-studded cast of over 600 actors, original music score, and incredible feature film quality sound effects. Experience the Scriptures like you’ve never experienced them before – brought to life and dramatized in a way that will fully immerse you in the experience and leave you wanting more.”
So says Thomas Nelson Publishers.
I say The Word of Promise Audio Bible will hold you spellbound while you absorb the word of God. It really will “leave you wanting more”.
If you’ve explored audio Bibles (find free audio Bibles here), you’ve probably encountered some dramatized versions. They may or may not have held your interest. I can safely say that The Word of Promise Audio Bible is in a league of its own. It truly is dramatic audio theater.
The voice actors are superb. A small sampling of the more than 600 actors can be found here. The top-notch musical score and sound effects build an excellent environment for the Biblical events. Here’s a 4-minute promotional video to whet your appetite:
One of my unstated goals for this blog is to bring to your attention Bible study resources that are free or low-cost, because finances should never be a barrier to experiencing God through His word. The Internet hosts an untold number of tools to help you discover the truths of God’s word for yourself, often for free.
However, from time to time, I will also highlight resources that require an investment, because their quality and value are simply too great to ignore. The Word of Promise Audio Bible is one such resource.
The translation that was chosen for this project is the New King James Version (NKJV), which is a reliable and worthy source. The Word of Promise Audio Bible is a beautiful box set containing 79 CDs (98 hours of audio) and a bonus DVD. (I purchased mine for $78 from Amazon.)
